The Royal Flying Doctor Service

Royal Flying Doctors, DubboAfter living 16 years in remote areas of Queensland on cattle stations, Terry and Sue decided the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) was a logical choice for Country Apartments to support.

Terry currently sits on the Board of Directors of the South Eastern Section. This covers the RFDS operations in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. He is also the President of the Dubbo Support Group which is a major fund raising body supporting the development of the Dubbo Flying Doctor Base.

Passionate about the work the Flying Doctor does to service the medical needs of those that live, travel and work in remote areas, we find our commitment to this charity very rewarding.

Our involvement with the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Our family was looked after by the Flying Doctor while we were living in Central Queensland and many of our guests are doctors and these connections inspired us to choose the Royal Flying Doctor Service as a cause to support. For over fifteen years we have now been involved with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, including raising funds by participating in the Outback Car Trek.

The Royal Flying Doctor Outback Car Trek

Country Apartments has for many years been the sponsor of a trek car that travels across the country on the annual Royal Flying Doctor Outback Car Trek. The very reliable EH Holden has never let us down and over 11 Outback Treks has raised  $335,000 for the “doctor”.
